Discuss the battle mechanics in Kingdom of Camelot
Benefit of Ascension
*UPDATED for Briton on the 21 Jan 2013*

Restructuring your city:
Ascending clears out more spaces for your City to grow. After Ascending, players will automatically have a the new City Center building. The City Center combines 7 of your old Cities least used buildings ( Workshop, Blacksmith, Stable, Storehouse, Relief Station, Tavern and Guardian) into one, effectively providing 7 new slots to build on.

Free level 12 buildings and fields:
After Ascending, your Workshop, Blacksmith, Stable, Storehouse, Relief Station and Tavern are automatically scaled up to level 12! Regardless of the level they were before.

You will also get a new building for resources- The Grove (Druid) / The Factory (Fey) / The Countryside (Briton). The new building offers a completely new way to generate Resources. At level 1 Ascension players will receive 45 points in which to distribute toward resources in the new Grove Building. Each point in a resource slot generates the same resources a level 12 Resource building would! With 45 points to allocate the first time you Ascend, that's 45 level 12 resource buildings available to you. On top of that, each time you Ascend, you’ll receive an additional 5 Resource points to allocate and boost your resource generation even higher!

Blessings:
A myriad of new bonuses in a new system available at each level of Ascension. Blessings are arranged in both Major and Minor functions. Major Blessing offer up some of the most powerful buffs in the game, providing massive bonuses to March speed and Upkeep and other features. Minor blessings, on the other hand, will still provide adequate and effective bonuses to features like Throne Room Item find.

Increased Building Bonuses:
Three key buildings will also receive a massive increase to the vital features they already offer. At every level of Ascension Cottages, Barracks and Rally Points will each provide bigger and bigger bonuses. More population, faster troop training speeds, and more, bigger Marches each time you Ascend.

New Field Buildings for Each Faction:
Druid
- Druid Apothecary: Faster reviving time
- Druid Barrack: Train Bloodthorn

Fey
- Fey Altar: Sacrificial rituals to get extra boost for unit's base stat
- Fey Barrack: Train Executioner

Briton
- Briton Workshop: New researches
- Briton Barrack: Train Siege Wall
Benefit of Ascension
One of the popular question that most players love to ask:

Q: Which faction is the best?
A: The answer to that question is depends on what is the purpose for each of your cities?

The Druid Faction let you have 2 Druid Apothecary which mean faster revive time. Also, with minor blessing, you can train Archer faster. However, with the implementation of The Briton Faction, if you have Stone Guardian in your city, the Briton minor blessing - Empowered Stone will give you better bonus. In short, Druid faction is only good for faster reviving time FOR NOW.

The Fey Faction has Fey Altar that allows you to sacrifice your troops to increase your troops base stat. It also has the blessing that can increase your Ore Guardian attacking bonus - Empowered Iron. Since Altar can boost your troops base stats - up to 40%, which can make very significant different, I would suggest you use it as your attack city and main city FOR NOW.

The Briton Faction came with the new researches, one of the research is very important - Improved Fletching, each upgrade increases your projectiles' range by 2%. One of the good thing is once researched, the bonus applies to ALL your cities. Apart from the research, it has several blessings that increase your training speed especially for siege. All players should have at least 1 Briton Faction for the research FOR NOW.
Ascension Troops

Next question that people usually ask is whether it's worth to train these new troops.

I only tried Bloodthorn and Executioner before, but if just using them alone, the effect is not good and not worth it. I haven't try the Siege Wall yet, but so far based on the feedback that I've collected, Siege Wall is pretty good. You might need to take that into consideration before you select which faction you want.

I would run a few tests when I am free (which I am not sure when, I am heck busy recently), will keep here updated when I find out more about these units.

Another thing that might give you an idea on how to use these 3 units is the priority list. Siege Wall is the top in the priority list, before all the common troops; while Bloodthorn and Executioner are the lowest in priority list, behind all the common troops.
Benefit of Ascension
I am busy with moving recently and don't have much spare time to do more test, but I believe this thread in the official forum pretty much sum up everything you need to know about siege wall FOR NOW.
Benefit of Ascension
Another thread about siege wall discussion in the official forum.

So far we have 3 assumptions about Siege Wall:
1. Siege Wall is on the top on the target priority list in combat, which mean they are the first thing to get hit in all battle.

2. Siege Wall is set to opponent shortest range troops, which mean all opponent units can reach and hit them in Round 1, even when you out range your opponent.

3. Opponent troops will not advance until they kill all your Siege Wall.

Apparently, one of the assumption is incorrect here. Assumption number 2 is incorrect based on one of the most recent report that I have received. I've posted the report in official forum, and have already received some feedback via pm, however, I will not post it here till we verify that the new assumption is correct.

While waiting for the final verification, we'll see if we can get anyone to post their comment in here.
